Fresh fruit –
I’ve been trying to ripen some fruit that I bought last week at the grocery store. It’s been displayed in a bowl in my kitchen and every time I walked by my mouth would water. Six days I waited for this fruit from Heaven with patience that I don’t usually possess and on the six day I cut into it… and it was completely rotten.
Today is just a quick reminder of Galatians 5:22-23. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”
How’s the fruit that is spiritually displayed in your life? Are you showing love, peace and kindness? Does goodness and faithfulness and gentleness get associated with who you are? Do you practice self-control like finishing this 30 day prayer challenge stronger then before and making prayer a habit of your life? Or are you nice to look at and rotten on the inside?
Good questions to ask your self in prayer today and tomorrow and throughout a lifetime. Is the “fruit” of my life a true reflection of who I am and who I am really meant to be?
30 day challenge – read more in the “hit repeat again” previous blog…
1. Write down a list of things you need to pray for
This is not a wish list
Try not to just make them all about you
Keep the list small and purposeful
2. Spend at least 30 minutes in uninterrupted prayer
A scheduled time not just throughout the day
Ideas: 30 minute drive to work, actually getting up early, skipping a tv show, praying before bed
3. Read at least one scripture passage a day
Pick a book of the Bible and read a passage each day
